The overall objective of COIL is to generate an experience similar to that acquired with international inter-personal learning, but based on online interaction.
-
· Through the internationalization of the curriculum.
· Training in intercultural skills.
· Doing COIL makes it possible to create environments for exchange and intercultural learning without the need to travel abroad, and therefore, without generating emissions (SDG).
· A COIL experience provides first-rate cross-cultural personal impact to more students without increasing costs.
· The COIL facilitates access to the exchange for students who do not have the time or financial resources to study abroad.
-
· With intercultural sensitivity.
· With knowledge and respect for the norms and values of others
· Comprehensible and familiar with global contexts and issues and digital environments.
· Creative, able to work in a team, tolerant and respectful of difference.
· With resources, tools and contacts for a global labor market.
-
· The COIL is built on the basis of a previous collaborative task between teachers (activity design, teaching and implementation, evaluation criteria) and also requires students to work as a team to achieve shared goals.
· COIL requires flexible and open-minded teachers, prepared to "manage" an intercultural experience within their classes.
· COIL is technology-based but not technology-dependent: students and teachers are free to choose which tool, platform or application suits them best, and can interact synchronously or asynchronously.
